Our mission
The District Library provides tools, resources, and materials to allow all students to reach their full potential. This is done through materials acquisition, grant-writing, lessons, and a safe environment for all students at all ages. Students will be given access, time, and guidance through the library to be able accomplish the ideals of our Vision Statement, below.
Our visionStudents are offered freedom of knowledge in the district library through books, materials, and technologies that are accessible to all and which represent all. They are able to discover new things: from new technologies to new ways of thinking.
Students need not only access to knowledge and materials, but also the means to share their knowledge and content with the world. Our library will not only help students attain knowledge, but spread it. As we grow our collection, our knowledge, and our technology, they will share their interpretations and findings with the world to become global citizens and content creators. |
Our PhilosophyThe Hartsburg-Emden Community Unit School District Library provides students with the tools to empower themselves and collaborate in the school environment and for their futures. We provide materials, workspace, and access to knowledge so that ALL students and peoples are represented and knowledge can be gained and created. Students are instructed in knowledge acquisition and distribution.
